NPA visits NRC for facility maintenance inspection

Recently during the facility maintenance inspection of the state of the rail lines in the ports, the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Hadiza Bala Usman informed port users and Stakeholders of the resolution of management at enhancing the current state of infrastructure to meet up with the world’s standards in the direction of safeguarding the immediate evacuation of cargo from seaports across the country to the hinterlands via rail lines.

She said, the management was acquainted with the state of hinderances in the Ports that are caused by bad roads within the Port axis thereby leading to reduction in revenue which. This action doesn’t speak well of the Organisation as well as bringing an inability to the nation of not maximizing her prospective as a primary player in the Maritime sector and within the Sub-Saharan Africa.

After the inspection tour, the Director Operations, Nigerian Railway Corporation [NRC] Mr Niyi Alli who represented the Managing Director of the Corporation Mr Fidet Okhiria said that the inspection tour was to determine the current state of the rail lines in order to be in partnership with the NPA in the area of rehabilitation.

Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Hadiza Bala Usman was represented by the General Manager MD’s Office, Captain Iheanacho Ebubeogu who made these remarks during the facility maintenance inspection. The tour was led by Director of Operations (NRC) Niyi Alli.
