Hijacked oil tanker ship, recovered

The oil tanker ship, the merchant vessel Marine Express hijacked by pirates last Thursday has been regained. Anglo-Eastern, a ship management company made announcement of the news. The management said the merchant vessel Marine Express was carrying about 14,900 tons of gas, last Thursday. They are glad nobody was hurt and the cargos were fully intact.

“All crew members are reported to be safe and well and the cargo intact,” Anglo-Eastern said.

On Friday, they said, contact was lost with the tanker on Thursday when it was in the gulf of Guinea, off the coast of Benin in West Africa. Though it is known that the vessel was hijacked but it is not clear if any ransom was paid.
